About CMT 2027 Stuttgart
CMT 2027 runs January 16 to 24 at Messe Stuttgart. The organizer, Landesmesse Stuttgart, describes it as the world's largest travel fair. Travel destinations and caravans share the halls with specialist fairs covering cycling, hiking, golf, wellness, cruises, and DIY camper conversion. The public can attend the fair, while CMT Business provides a dedicated trade program. Your stand needs to address the audience that matters to your business.
What CMT Stuttgart 2027 Is
CMT is an annual January fair focused on travel, caravanning, and leisure. Destinations and tourism boards exhibit alongside about 1,200 caravans, motorhomes, and leisure vehicles. Slovenia is the partner country for the 2027 edition.
Who Attends the Show
CMT is mainly a public fair, and the 2026 visitor survey gives a clear picture of the audience. The average visitor was 52, while 54% planned at least 3 trips that year. About 81% planned to travel elsewhere in Europe, and 26% showed interest in destinations outside Europe. Trade professionals also attend through CMT Business.
Show Format and Halls
The 2026 edition occupied 10 halls across 125,000 sq m, and the 2027 edition also uses 10 halls. Cycling and hiking travel takes over Hall 9 from January 16 to 18. Golf, wellness, and cruise travel follow in Hall 9 from January 21 to 24, alongside the DIY camper fair. Confirm your hall position before you finalize the stand layout.
CMT 2027 runs from Saturday, January 16 through Sunday, January 24. Visitor entry starts at 9:00 AM, with the halls open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Exhibitors have access from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
Stand construction runs January 11–15, while dismantling starts on the evening of January 24. The organizer treats these construction dates as provisional until your stand is confirmed. Messe Stuttgart is located at Messepiazza 1 and has 6,700 parking spaces, with direct connections to Stuttgart Airport, the A8, the B27, and the S-Bahn.
Why Exhibit at CMT 2027
CMT gives exhibitors 9 days in front of a large travel and caravan audience. The 2026 edition attracted about 268,000 visitors and 1,660 exhibitors. The audience is broad, so your stand needs a clear purpose. It might focus on sales conversations, product demonstrations, or scheduled trade meetings.
Meet Travel Buyers Face to Face
Trade contacts are active on the show floor. CMT Business provides travel and caravanning professionals with a dedicated congress and event program, while the organizer recorded about 720 side events during the 2026 fair. Give these visitors a proper place to sit and talk away from the aisle.
Reach Decision Makers on Site
Industry events take place throughout the show. The CMT Business program has included Tourismustag Baden-Württemberg, which attracts roughly 800 to 1,000 participants from politics and the tourism industry, along with the Cycle Tourism Summit. If these contacts matter to your business, set up a private meeting area and schedule appointments before the show.
Show Destinations and Products
About 1,200 caravans, motorhomes, and leisure vehicles are expected at CMT, with Slovenia serving as the 2027 partner country. Vehicles need enough space for visitors to walk through them safely. Destination stands need one clear message that visitors can remember after leaving the hall.
Build Your Sales Pipeline
Nine days gives your team time to run demonstrations, answer questions, and collect inquiries. If you sell products directly from the stand, the exhibitor terms require clear price labels on displayed items. Position the counter, product area, and lead capture point around the way your team will handle visitors.
Who Visits CMT Stuttgart 2027
CMT attracts holidaymakers, caravan buyers, and industry professionals. Each group uses a stand differently. Decide which audience matters most to your business, then build the visitor experience around that group.
Travel Trade Professionals
The organizer positions CMT Business as a meeting point for tourism and caravanning professionals at the start of the year. Trade visitors need to find the right person quickly. Give them a clear reception point and a comfortable place to sit down.
Tourism Boards and Destinations
Countries, regions, and cities exhibit at CMT. In 2026, exhibitors included the Catalan Tourist Board Central Europe and the Kleber Group, which presented Angola. A destination stand needs one strong idea, supported by routes, maps, and staff who can answer specific questions.
Public and Trade Visitors
Public visitors browse, compare products, and ask direct questions. Graphics and displays therefore need to make sense without a staff member explaining every detail. Trade contacts often need longer conversations. An open entrance with a private meeting area behind it can serve both groups.
Why Use a Stand Contractor for CMT 2027
Messe Stuttgart has firm construction requirements, while CMT applies additional event rules. A contractor who checks these requirements during the design stage can reduce changes during the stand construction period.
Show Rules and Regulations
CMT's exhibitor terms set limits that directly affect stand design. Construction can reach a maximum height of 7.00 m, and each stand must have a physical boundary separating it from neighboring stands. Roll ups and poster displays do not qualify as stand boundaries.
Food and drink service is limited to 10% of the stand area and requires approval. Sound systems also require approval. Build these requirements into the design before production begins.
Construction Schedules and Logistics
Stand construction runs January 11 to 15, with work permitted daily from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Production and freight, therefore, need careful scheduling around the holiday period at the end of the year. Dismantling starts on the evening of January 24, with the final deadline on January 26 at 6:00 PM.
One Dedicated Contact
We manage design, production, transport, installation, and dismantling through one team. The same team coordinates the booth, graphics, AV, and furniture. You have one dedicated contact instead of coordinating several separate suppliers.
Exhibition Stand Types We Build for CMT 2027
Your booth format depends on the stand area and the number of open sides facing the aisle. CMT has a minimum stand size of 20 sq m, while construction is limited to 7.00 m in height.
Custom Exhibition Stands
A custom stand starts with your products, brand, and objectives rather than an existing layout. It works well when you need a specific visitor journey, such as a product demonstration area followed by a private meeting room.
Inline and Corner Stands
Inline stands suit focused displays where visitors approach from one main aisle. Corner stands have two open sides, giving visitors more entry points and creating additional space for visitor movement or a small meeting area.
Peninsula and Island Stands
Peninsula and island stands have 3 or 4 open sides, which increases visibility from the aisles. That extra exposure also creates more areas for your team to cover. Each visible side needs a clear message, product display, or reason for visitors to stop.
Stands With an Upper Level
The organizer charges an additional 50% of the built floor area for stands with an upper level, on top of the space rent. The 7.00 m height limit also applies. An upper level needs a practical purpose, such as private meeting rooms.
Modular and Rental Booths
Modular systems suit smaller spaces and exhibitors who attend several shows with similar requirements. Rental booths work when you need a professional stand for CMT without keeping the structure after the event.
Stand Planning Tips for CMT 2027
Plan Visitor Flow First
Decide where visitors enter, where they stop, and where your team works before choosing finishes. A poor layout creates the same bottleneck repeatedly throughout all 9 days.
Plan Meeting Zones
Keep meetings away from the busiest edge of the stand. If you plan continuous music, the organizer requires approval and consent from neighboring stands. Keep your meeting area quiet enough for normal conversation.
Match Booth Size to Goals
Free exhibitor passes scale with stand size: 4 passes for stands up to 49 sq m and 8 passes for stands from 50 to 89 sq m. Plan your staffing schedule around that number before choosing the booth size. If your main goal is booked appointments, prioritize meeting space over decorative floor area.
Build for 9 Days
Flooring, counters, and storage receive heavy use across 9 days. Exhibitors can enter from 8:00 AM, giving your team time to reset the stand before visitors arrive. Provide concealed storage for brochures, personal belongings, and coats.
